Plymouth Nurses Launch Social Enterprise to Care for Dementia Patients

Laura Walker, a registered mental health nurse, and Kate Smith, a registered general nurse, put together a social enterprise called Memory Matters.

The social enterprise, which aims to improve the quality of live among people suffering dementia and memory difficulties, offers a one-to-one worker service, operates sessions in care homes, and renders healthcare professional training on dementia therapies. Memory Matters currently engages the skills of 10 employees who run activity clubs in community venues in Devon and Cornwall.
