What Makes a Social Enterprise City

Bristol and Plymouth has been awarded the badge of “social enterprise cities”. The badge will also be given to four more cities as part of a scheme to lure investment into social businesses.

The cities’ social enterprise badge recognizes the development and boom of the sector. According to Celia Richardson, director of communications at Social Enterprise UK, securing a social enterprise city status is not an easy feat: The city should be dedicated to social entrepreneurship, and has a high rate of social businesses.
