World Bank Awards $1.4 M Grants to 12 Social Enterprises in Northeastern States

The World Bank’s Development Marketplace, a competitive grants program, has provided $1.4 million grants to 12 social enterprises in the northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya and Mizoram for development activities and capacity building investments.

The growth of social entrepreneurship in Northeast India is determined by the fact that the World Bank got as many as 200 applications from Assam, Meghalaya and Mizoram following the announcement of grant applications last February.
