The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is setting up its new Green Climate Fund to “provide support to developing countries to limit or reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”
The best way forward for the fund, according to the World Future Council, is to provide feed-in tariffs for developing countries so that they can subsidize large-scale renewable systems and feed electricity to their grids.
