Social Entrepreneur Believes Everyone Has Right to World-Class Education

Richard Ludlow of New York City founded Academic Earth, an angel investor-backed social enterprise that provides a site with videos of university lectures and other educational content.

Ludlow aims to expand access to high quality education for free online and make the for-profit operation sustainable through ad sales and affiliate marketing. Academic Earth, which features lectures from Berkeley, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale among others, works to develop a platform to facilitate the global sharing of ideas, both inside and outside the classroom.
