Social Enterprise Creates World’s First 3D Printed Wrench From Recycled Ocean Plastic

Vancouver-based social enterprise, The Plastic Bank, announced it has created “the world’s first 3D printed item from entirely recycled ocean plastic,” according to co-founder Shaun Frankson.

The organization is building centers for plastic waste in areas that have a high rates of poverty and plastic pollution. The Plastic Bank, which is founded by David Katz, who previously founded Nero Global Tracking, aims to help the world’s poor move up from poverty by giving access to education opportunities, 3D printing services, and self-sustaining microentrepreneurial ventures.
