Social Enterprise Connects Small Businesses To Customers In Need

Christopher Girdwood, after witnessing how small business owners cope following a disaster, founded the Recovery Pledge.

Recovery Pledge is a social enterprise that connects social businesses with their customers nationwide. According to Girdwood, “Private sector approach to disaster recovery can compliment the work of charitable organizations.”

Based in Valencia, California, he’s now in the process of building an e-commerce site that enables customers to purchase from the businesses that sign on. Shoppers will then be able to follow the business as it recovers after a disaster and the website will display where the purchases have been made.
