Rivaayat is a social initiative by the students of Shri Ram College of Commerce to sustain and revive the dying art form of terracotta pottery.The existence of numerous problems such as lack of technical knowledge and potters being unable to meet the current demand of the customers has led to it slowly fading away.
Through Rivaayat, we aim to create a stable demand chain for these artisans. We have provided a sustainable livelihood to 17 people from 3 different states and are planning to adopt more artisans under this venture. Moreover, our products are biodegradable which makes them environment friendly. Thus, our venture fulfills its social responsibility in addition to keeping the legacy of Indian handicrafts alive.
We are currently operating in Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan and are looking forward to expanding into other art forms as well.We are planning to expand our venture to basketry as well and hopefully it may come out soon.
At Rivaayat, we believe in the holistic development of our artisans and aspire to make them self sustainable, capable of performing diverse business activities themselves.
