Partnerships in Social Enterprises Can Increase Social Impact

Chief executive of HCT, Dai Powell, shares the experiences and practical lessons he learned along the way when teaming up with Ealing Community Transport to deliver site transport during the Olympic Park construction.

Powell believes hat full partnership working– two or more organizations coming together to do some work – is a practical management task. At his HCT Group, he shares the major barriers that hinder effective operations. But, by forging a joint venture company that combined depot and engineering teams in east London with ECT’s turnover and systems, HCT could make a partnership created to beat private sector competition, provide successful contracts and add social value.
