Amit Kataria, who lost his lower limbs to polio, has launched his social enterprise, Rural Organisation for Social Empowerment (ROSE) to create employment for at least one member of every household in Haryana, North Central India.
To further his cause, Amit seeks to stimulate young Indians to lead development through enterprise, thus spearheading a movement of enterprise-led-development that takes the form of an annual train journey across India for social entrepreneurs called Jagirti Yatra. Jagirti Yatra means “journey of awakening”, which calls upon dozens of cities where 450 participants connect with successful social entrepreneurs.
