Social Entrepreneurs to Get Free WiFi Access

iPass, a telecommunications provider, will give free internet access to 100 non-government organizations (NGOs) for a year as they work in dangerous countries to help its poor and underserved populations.

The NGOs will use their WiFi connectivity to communicate with colleagues and secure date in real-time as they address pressing social issues. Then, IPass will announce the full list of entrepreneurs it is working with at the annual Skoll Foundation’s Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship. As Sally Osberg, CEO of the Skoll Foundation, asserts, “Mobile connectivity is critical to our social entrepreneurs’ work around the world, in some of the most remote places on earth.”
