The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has pledged $50 million to support emergency efforts to contain the threat caused by Ebola in West Africa.
UN agencies and other international organizations involved in the suppression of the Ebola outbreak will immediately receive funds from the Gates Foundation. These funds will allow these organizations as well as local government units to obtain the needed supplies and increase emergency operations in Ebola-affected areas.
