Employees of one of Asia's largest banks are planting more than a thousand trees in a Hong Kong park as part of a company-wide effort to reduce carbon emissions, CNBC reports.
According to the South China Morning Post, 100 employees of Bank of Hong Kong were among those who participated in a June 21 tree-planting event at Tai Lam Country Park.
"At Hong Kong Banking, we are committed to doing well while doing good for society," the bank's managing director said in a statement.
"I am delighted to join hands with my colleagues bring our values to life and make a meaningful contribution to Hong Kong's sustainable future."
The planting is part of a larger effort by the bank to reduce its carbon emissions by 88% by 2024, according to a press release.
