Google is putting its money where its mouth is.
The tech giant has announced its 2024 Black and Latino Founders Fund, which will provide funding to 20 black and Latino entrepreneurs using artificial intelligence to solve "some of today's most pressing issues," the Dallas Morning News reports.
Google will provide each recipient with $150,000 in non-dilutive cash awards and $100,000 in Google Cloud credits to help grow their startups.
The recipients will also receive access to mental health resources and mentorship from Google experts in AI and sales, according to Google.
"AI can enable startups to build transformative products and solve complex challenges," Maya Kulycky, Google's VP of strategy and operations, says in a statement.
HacWare, the Dallas-based cybersecurity company founded by Tiffany Ricks, is one of the recipients.
The company's cybersecurity awareness platform uses AI to fight phishing attacks.
"Cybersecurity isn't just about protecting data, it's about empowering people," Ricks says in a statement.
"Lean security emphasizes the need to optimize security practices by focusing on what is most critical to a business while avoiding unnecessary complexity and additional costs."
