Max Bateson's idea to improve the lives of the elderly won him the "Ingenuity Impact Entrepreneur of the Year" award Friday at a ceremony at the University of Nottingham in the UK, Quartz reports.
Bateson's company, HYGGE, offers "innovative solutions for the challenges of the UK's aging population, integrating modern technology, adaptable living spaces, and a supportive environment to support caregivers and improve the lives of the elderly," according to a press release from the university.
He also won the "Communities Champion" award for his social enterprise, BaseGap, which works with communities to create inspiring spaces for young people.
Other winners at the ceremony included Jade Morgan for BaseGap and Saskia Manson for re-new.
