The US Chamber of Commerce has named law firm Morrison Foerster a market leader in a newly created category: impact investing.
The firm was one of only two named in the "Band 1" category, with its Social Enterprise and Impact Investment Group listed as a "committed participant in the social enterprise and impact investing space" for more than 25 years, per a press release.
Chambers USA calls impact investing and social entrepreneurship "unique legal challenges," and Morrison Foerster's practice group " specializes in representing 'impact' investors, from those that focus on impact first but expect to generate returns in the long term (including families and family offices), to those that prioritize returns but want to ensure positive social or environmental impact or mitigate negative impacts (like impact-focused venture, growth, and private equity firms)."
