If you're in the market for a new set of wheels for your car, a startup in Bangladesh could be just the thing.
Brain Station 23 has developed a smart lock that can be programmed to lock and unlock your car when it's left in a parking lot, Quartz reports.
The company's founder and CEO, Raisul Kabir, says it's the first smart lock of its kind in Bangladesh, and it's already being used by thousands of people in the country.
The lock, which can be programmed to lock and unlock up to four times per day, is part of the Innovation Challenge, an education program run by a Chinese student entrepreneur in Bangladesh, Quartz reports.
The idea for the program came to Kabir while he was working on a project to improve the lives of impoverished people in his home country.
"I thought, why not?" he tells Quartz.
"I wanted to give something back to the people who are suffering from poverty."
Brain Station 23 has already developed a number of smart locks for other types of cars, as well.
Kabir says he plans to expand the company's product line to include other types of cars and to sell its smart locks in other countries, including the US.
