A French investment group and a Silicon Valley-based think tank are teaming up to help boost entrepreneurship in Africa, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Investisseurs & Partenaires (I&P) and the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship (Miller Center) say they plan to work together to mentor, train, and fund entrepreneurs in 20 African countries.
"This partnership offers a unique opportunity for heightened exposure of African entrepreneurs, providing them access to mentorship programs and networks in Silicon Valley and around the world," I&P's co-CEOs say in a press release.
Since its creation in 2002, I&P has invested in more than 250 companies in 20 African countries.
Miller Center has accelerated more than 1,400 social enterprises across 100 countries, primarily from Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
"We're looking forward to collaborating with I&P to grow our collective impact, support more entrepreneurs, and expand Miller Center's reach in French-speaking Africa," says Miller Center Executive Director Brigit Helms.
