The Canadian government is dishing out more than $1.7 billion in funding to some of the country's top researchers.
The lion's share of the money is going to scientists at Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia, the National Post reports.
Dr. Kimberly Thomas-Fran ? 'ois, for example, will use the money to study the level of technological integration at hotels in Canada.
"A higher level of integration may also contribute to more efficient and sustainable operations and help address some concerns, such as labor shortages in the sector," says Canada's minister of innovation, science, and industry, per a release.
Thomas-Fran ? 'ois isn't the only one taking advantage of the money.
Scott Rankin and Salvador Barragan, for example, will study people management in social enterprises and social-purpose organizations.
"This research will further establish Canada's position as a global leader in innovation while helping to drive our economy and achieve our shared vision of a brighter, healthier future for all Canadians," says the minister.
