Meet Adia.
The 14-year-old Michigan girl is the founder of The Perky Wallflower, a speed-dating event that has become a "beacon of hope and connection for locals seeking genuine human interaction in a post-pandemic world," according to its website.
It all started when Adia's parents took her to a speed-dating event and, inspired by her parents' love story, Adia came up with the idea for The Perky Wallflower.
Now it's held weekly at the Erratic Ale in Dexter.
"For some, it's a chance to rediscover the lost art of dating; for others, it's an opportunity to heal after experiences like divorce," the event's Facebook page states.
Adia's website notes that the event's 80% match rate is "a testament to Adia's keen intuition and dedication to fostering meaningful relationships."
All proceeds from the event go to Adia's college fund, MLive.com reports.
"What started as a simple idea inspired by a family love story has blossomed into a thriving business under the careful stewardship of a teenage girl," the Facebook page states.
