For more than 100 days, thousands of women in Israel have been separated from their husbands and children as a result of the country's Gaza war.
Now a new nonprofit is trying to help.
HaOgen LeMishpachot HaMiluim (The Anchor for the Families of Reservists) was created by Rachel Azaria, a former deputy mayor of Jerusalem; social entrepreneur and activist Yael Yechieli; and high-tech executive Racheli Shuraty, reports eJewishPhilanthropy.
The group provides everything from babysitting to moving apartments to moving help for the spouses of reservists, who make up the majority of Israel's fighting force, per the Washington Post.
"We help with babysitting or even just providing an extra set of hands while the mother is still home, bringing cooked food, transporting kids, help around the house, taking the dog for a walk, moving apartments," Azaria says.
HaOgen works with more than 10,000 families across 250 cities and towns in seven regions, and Azaria says they don't ask for help.
"We say, 'We want to help you.' Here's what we can do," she says.
