Rashmi Majgaonkar is a mom of two, a competitive badminton player, and the founder of Katyayani Foundation, a non-profit that works to improve the lives of the poor in her native India.
But it's her passion for community service that's earned her the title of "Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2024" from Mumbai News.
"I found that really you work but don't get the satisfaction because you are doing under other banner so I started my own NGO," Majgaonkar says.
She tells the news station that she started the foundation after her childhood passion for community service inspired her to do something for others.
"Under privileged education, women impowerment, environment and health of the community," she says of Katyayani Foundation, "We feel proud that these students are doing good and working in different organizations as per their capabilities."
