It's not every day that a tech company hires a social entrepreneur, but that's exactly what's happened with 1M1B, a United Nations-accredited organization that's been working with women in India for three years.
Mashable reports on the hiring of Priya Subodh as director for women skilling and social entrepreneurship.
"She will act as a pillar and be responsible for the success of every woman and youth in villages who are associated with 1M1B," a press release explains.
Subodh, a social entrepreneur and interior stylist, has "vast experience in content creation, supporting women weavers, curating their products, and creating a market for their businesses and lives," per the release.
She's also had experience in digital marketing and digital creativity product solutions and customer engagement.
"Priya has been voluntarily supporting 1M1B and its women empowerment-related initiatives for the past several years, working with women at the grassroots level so that they are ready to start their small business or job supported by 1M1B's CSR partners," the press release notes.
1M1B works with rural women to upskill them in areas such as digital literacy, digital creativity, textile sector-specific skills, and tailoring, among others
