The Colombian government is putting its money where its mouth is in a bid to improve the lives of the country's poor.
The government's Alliance for Social Transformation has launched a call for proposals from companies in the Caribbean, Pacific, Urab ?'Antioque ? 'o, and Andean regions that focus on education, economic development, and citizen participation, the BBC reports.
"We propose to democratize access to innovative human and financial resources, for those organizations, ventures, and companies with a social purpose, that generate impact in their communities and transform lives," says Paula Fonseca, director of the alliance.
The government hopes to choose up to 20 projects from the proposals, which must focus on education, economic development, and citizen participation.
