"Apprenticeships are an investment in our future and they provide the foundation for a strong and vibrant economy," Cambrian Training Company's managing director says.
That's the message from a Welsh recycling company that was recently named the Large Employer of the Year at the company's annual Employment and Skills Awards, the Guardian reports.
Gareth Walsh, Bryson Recycling's general manager, says the company is "so proud" to win the award, which "reflects the learning culture that we have within the business."
His entire management team has gone through the company's apprenticeship program, which Cambrian Training says "supports employees who have been promoted from recycling operative to managers whilst also improving the quality and performance of the business."
The apprenticeships "had a direct benefit to our employees by creating a career path using knowledge and skills they gain," Walsh says.
"In addition, the apprenticeship program supports staff retention and growth within reuse and recycling internally."
