A blood-testing startup called Blod+ is poised to change the way hospitals and blood banks in India do business, the Times of India reports.
The Chennai-based company has launched the beta version of Blod+, a blood management system that connects hospitals and blood banks.
"The healthcare sector is currently highly unstructured," founder and CEO Varun Nair tells the Times.
"Blod simplifies and digitises the day-to-day activities of the haematology department of hospitals."
He says Blod+ will make blood management "more efficient and effective," as it "makes blood management more efficient and effective."
According to TechCrunch, hospitals and blood banks currently use different systems to track and record patients' blood tests.
With Blod+, "hospitals and blood banks can track and record all the vital signs of a patient in one place," Nair says.
He adds that Blod+ will also make it easier for patients to donate blood.
The startup has already raised an undisclosed amount in pre-seed funding from investors including Vijay Pravin of bitsCrunch, the Times reports.
"There are some investments you make from the pocket and some you make from the heart," Pravin says.
