If you're in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador and want to help people in need, you might want to get involved.
Eight community organizations there have formed a partnership with the Center for Social Enterprise at Memorial University to help them secure government funding, the CBC reports.
The Newfoundland and Labrador Social Enterprise and Innovation Coalition is made up of CHOICES for Youth, Food First, John's First Light,Federation of Co-operatives, SmartICE,Stella's Circle, End St.
Homelessness, Choice's for Youth, and End St.
Food First.
"One issue identified was a lack of awareness about social financing, including what it is, how organizations can develop social procurement policies and how social purpose organizations can avail of such policies and access funding," says a press release.
The coalition will host a social procurement summit on Nov.
