There are nearly 300 social enterprises operating in Ireland's Western region, but officials say there's a lot more out there that they haven't yet identified.
To that end, the Western Development Commission has created an interactive map of the social enterprises in the region, which includes Clare, Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, and Donegal, RTE reports.
The commission has also launched a survey that social enterprises in the region can complete at western.ie to ensure they are included on the map.
"This new interactive map will allow consumers access information about services locally which has previously not been available," the commission's CEO says.
"If successful, there is potential for this map to be rolled out nationally."
