Coprata is the winner of Harvard Business School's 25th annual New Venture Competition. The startup, which developed a way to discreetly and easily monitor health when using a toilet, took the $75,000 grand prize in the student social enterprise track, reports the Harvard Gazette.
The runner-up prize went to Social Enterprise, which focused on social issues such as racial equity and the environment.
The other two winners were in the student business track, which focused on products and services, and the alumni track, which focused on products and services.
More than 6,,700 students and alumni took part in this year's competition, and more than $3 million has been awarded since it began in 1997, according to a press release.
"I'm proud that the legacy of the NVC is not only felt by the people who have competed in it for all these years, but also seen in the impact of their ventures on the business world and in society as a whole," says the director of the Arthur Rock Center for Entrepreneurship.
