"Our country owes so much to our veterans, and I hope my efforts will substantially and positively impact as many veterans as I possibly can."
That's Sylvie L'g're's take on her new role on the advisory board of SoldierStrong, a nonprofit that works to help military veterans get their lives back on track.
L'g're, who was born in Canada but became an American citizen in 2015, is a social entrepreneur, investor, philanthropist, and co-founder of The Policy Circle.
She and her husband, Todd Ricketts, the majority owner of the Chicago Cubs, recently donated an exoskeleton to SoldierStrong, which presented it to Tyler Densford, a paralyzed veteran who had been selected to test it.
"Thanks to the donation, Densford is able to walk again and enjoy a higher quality of life," SoldierStrong says in a press release.
"We're thrilled that Sylvie is bringing her energy, spirit of serving the greater good."
