Foundation: Richard King Mellon Foundation
What began as an event to find three business owners to split a $1 million investment, turned into a life-changing $3 million move by the Richard King Mellon Foundation. The foundation is not only helping the economy, it is also tackling social justice issues. When it's all said and done, leaders at the foundation anticipate investing at least $50 million in for-profit companies over the next decade.
