If you're a social entrepreneur who wants to make a difference in your community, Canada's Community Foundation North Okanagan has just the thing for you.
It's funding a six- to 12-month coaching and training program for "social entrepreneurs and impacting leaders in creating sustainable and regenerative enterprises that address systemic inequities," the foundation says in a press release.
Participants in the Impact and Leadership Development Program will get guidance on everything from revenue development to financial management, as well as coaching on "impact modeling, revenue development, financial management, and more," per the release.
So far, 45 nonprofits, charities, and social enterprises in British Columbia's Thompson-Okanagan and Fraser Valley regions have received grant-supported coaching through the program.
"The ILDP has been truly transformative for me as a leader," says Eden Fineday, publisher of IndigiNews, an Indigenous women-led independent media outlet that tells stories from across the Indigenous homelands of so-called North America while practicing trauma-informed, culturally relevant, and respectful journalism.
