After more than a dozen years as publisher of Martha's Vineyard's Vineyard Gazette, Jane Seagrave is stepping down.
Monica Brady-Myerov, a journalist and digital entrepreneur, will take over on March 11, reports the Boston Globe.
"Saying goodbye to a beloved and highly successful publisher like Jane is extremely bittersweet," says Pam Kohlberg, chair of the Gazette's board of directors.
"But after interviewing many very competitive candidates, we have great confidence in Monica's leadership and management skills as we enthusiastically anticipate her arrival to lead the Gazette in its next chapter."
Brady-Myerov, who left daily journalism to found Listenwise, an education technology start-up, in 2013, has "devoted her career to promoting excellence and innovation in journalism that connects with and reflects the community," Kohlberg says.
Seagrave, who joined the Gazette in 2011, will continue as a board member.
