Goal Women Africa is out with its annual list of 25 African women who are changing the "narrative, illuminating perspectives, and confounding beliefs in their narratives," as the organization puts it.
The list is broken down into five categories: advocacy, entrepreneurship, social development, tech, and media.
Here are the top five: Bukky Shonibare: The founder and executive director of Invictus Africa, a civic organization that promotes human rights and gender equality in Africa.
She "passionately advocates for human rights and gender equality, focusing on critical issues, such as gender-based violence prevention, increased women's political representation, improved women's health, and economic empowerment, and girls' access to free, safe, and quality education," per her bio.
Magatte Wade: She "embodies the transformative potential of dedicated individuals in communities and fostering a more inclusive and secure future for women in the landscape of women-led societal shifts," as well as her "unwavering belief in the potential for African dignity and economic advancement."
