The hotel is teaming up with a not-for-profit called Hotel Etico, which was started by Andrea Comastri in Italy, to hire people with disabilities to work in the hotel's restaurants and bars, reports the BBC.
Comastri, who has a physical disability, says he came up with the idea after seeing how difficult it was for people with disabilities to find work, per the Sydney Morning Herald.
"It's a completely different industry," he says.
"A lot of people with disabilities don't have the right skills, they don't have the right experience, they don't have the right education, they don't have the right experience at all."
That's why Comastri came up with the idea for Hotel Etico: to give people with disabilities the opportunity to work in the hospitality industry, and to provide them with the training and experience they need to do so.
The first group of 18 to 35-year-olds will start working at the hotel in November 2020, reports Today.com.au...
