When it comes to diversity, it's all about "unity, association, reciprocation, a good community or social interest, gratuity, justice, and respect for human dignity," writes Ellen Galinsky at Entrepreneur.
And that's exactly what Apple CEO Tim Cook is trying to achieve with his company's "Let's Go" initiative, which aims to promote more women, people of color, and LGBT employees, per the New York Times.
Galinsky, who's also the mother of a 15-year-old boy and a 6-month-old baby, says that while she can't fully understand every person's background, "I can at least respect the fact that it played a part in creating them, even when we disagree."
Among Galinsky's tips: "Start by making sure everyone feels they belong," she writes.
"We just had our annual meeting, where everyonethose stationed outside Minneapolis and some even outside the countrycome home to the'mothership' to celebrate everything in Clearfield....
Especially in this new hybrid world, bringing everyone together is critical to maintaining their sense of solidarity."
