Social Business Rethreads Fabrics of Change

Rethreaded is a social business that offers women in Jacksonville, Florida sewing jobs. These women have been affected by the sex trade. Kristin Keen, Founder and Executive Director of Rethreaded, aims to put an end to addiction, violence, human trafficking, and prostitution by providing women the chance to sew their lives back together.

Rethreaded is a safe haven for many women who have been out of jail and are finding difficulties in gaining employment due to their felony records. The business pays a living wage to these women to become artisan seamstresses and “upcycle” donated clothing into new creations for sale.
