Google’s latest investment is $103 million in a 265.7 megawatt (MW) solar project in Southern California.
The solar project is called Imperial Valley Solar 1 (IVS-1), and the search engine’s 13th investment in renewable energy projects. IVS-I will produce enough electricity to power 80,000 homes, and will create over 900 construction jobs in California who’s unemployment rate took a dip of 8.9 percent.
